There are parts of Riverhead Forest that are less forest, meaning less plantation and almost resemble more of a park or a native bush.
We went for a ~2 hr walk / hike through some of such areas and it is just beautiful. Lots of birds could be heard in the trees and it was rather refreshing to walk on unformed tracks.
