There are quite a number of people on Linkedin – and generally on social media – who are trying to push a certain impression.

The impression of being a high-flyer, a successful person who is constantly jetting around from one important event of meeting to another.

However, the question is if that is all real. I am not saying they are lying. But is that really making one happy and is that really the definition of being ‘successful’?

Are those people really happy or just trying to make an impression, fishing for attention and new clients?

What about family, friends, experiences, nature?

For me, success comes in many facets. From solving a little detail, finishing a job that looks good and works well, having a happy client, but also growing a plant or tree, fixing a broken thing at home, having kids that are independent and have respect and manners.

A walk in the forest makes me a lot happier than sitting in a plane for an hour.

Did I mention that I don’t like champagne? I prefer a nice Riesling or gin.
